Summary: This article focuses on the question: Why does the Clinical Teaching-Learning of Law (CTLL) that went from a model to a pedagogical approach respond to the competency-based training used at Universidad Católica Luis Amigó? To answer this question, the recovery of the traditions and constructs on which learning to be, to know, to do and to coexist within the Law program at Universidad Católica Luis Amigó have been welcomed. Methodologically, the research was carried out on the basis of the qualitative design, the case study and the documentary review technique with analysis from the triangulation with the institutional documents that record the experience of the LC at the university. There is evidence of a distance between the declared model and the model executed in the Law program, to finish with the reflection of the elements to understand the CTLL as a pedagogical approach that responds to competency-based training.
