It is concluded that, regardless of the legal correctness, the judgments in the Mexican accusatory system show a non-optimal degree of quality, with problems associated to the lack of clarity and the weakness of reasoning in the justification.El artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación cualitativa que tuvo por objeto describir y valorar la calidad de las sentencias dictadas en el sistema penal acusatorio en la Ciudad de México, México. Se seleccionó una muestra no estadística de sentencias dictadas por jueces del Tribunal Superior de Justicia local durante 2019, las cuales se valoraron con base en un instrumento que captura información sobre la calidad estilística y la calidad argumentativa de la sentencia.
