Summary: The article presents the results of a qualitative research that aimed to describe and assess the quality of the judgments in the accusatory criminal system in Mexico City, Mexico. A non-statistical sample of judgments dictated during 2019 by judges of the local Superior Court of Justice was selected and evaluated with an instrument which captures information about the stylistic and argumentative quality of the judgment. It is concluded that, regardless of the legal correctness, the judgments in the Mexican accusatory system show a non-optimal degree of quality, with problems associated to the lack of clarity and the weakness of reasoning in the justification.
