Translocalmotion is the theme of the Shanghai Biennial-2008. The People's
square becomes the starting point for transfer and passage. From this place
connections, interconnections and social, economical, cultural and emotional
exchanges occur. It's about resuming a certain emotion in movement (emotion in
motion), more appropriately described as e-motion in motion, where technological
network mechanisms play a key role. We want to reapproach distinct historical
times: yesterday's Potosi, which still reverberates in today's Evo Morale's Bolivia,
interrogating as to the future of a mixed society and Shanghai Biennial-2008,
China, under the symbol of translocalmotion, talking about the past-future of
Hutong's apples and the birds in ordinary bamboo cages.

A Praça do Povo é tomada como ponto zero de transferência e passagem. A partir deste local realizam-se conexões, interconexões, encontros e trocas sociais, econômicas, culturais, afetivas. Trata-se da retomada de uma certa emoção em movimento (emotion in motion) mais adequadamente escrita como e.motion in motion onde os mecanismos tecnológicos em rede jogam um papel fundamental. Queremos aproximar temporalidades históricas distintas: a Potosi de ontem que ecoa ainda na Bolívia de Evo Morales de hoje, interrogando o futuro de uma sociedade miscigenada e a Bienal de Xangai-2008, China, que fala, sob o signo da translocalmotion, ao passado-futuro das maçãs de Hutong e dos pássaros nas prosaicas gaiolas de bambu.Translocalmotion es el tema de la Bienal de Xangai-2008. La Plaza del Pueblo es considerada como punto cero de transferencia y pasaje. Desde este local se realizan conexiones, interconexiones, citas y cambios sociales, económicos, culturales y afectivos. Se trata de la reanudación de una cierta emoción en movimiento (emotion in motion) más adecuadamente escrita como e.motion in motion donde los mecanismos tecnológicos en red poseen papel fundamental. Queremos acercar temporalidades históricas distintas: a Potosi de ayer que todavía resona en la Bolivia de Evo Morales de hoy, interrogando el futuro de una sociedad mestiza y la Bienal de Xangai-2008, China, que habla, bajo el signo de la translocalmotion, al pasado-futuro de las manzanas de Hutong y de los pájaros en las prosaicas jaulas de bambú.Instituto de Ciências Humanas e Filosofia.
