The hit-and-run crime is a worldwide recognized phenomenon, and Ecuador is not exempt from it, taking into account that this crime has been occurring since ancient times; however, among one of the circumstances that increase it, we have the influence of drug trafficking, which has rapidly grown the hit-and-run crime nationwide.The growth of this crime in the year 2022, shows us that it constitutes a serious threat to citizen security; taking into consideration that the current legislation is favorable to criminals and leaves the victims unprotected, citing as an example that; (a hitman can kill and after a few days can go out to commit the same crime again); thus making it necessary and urgent to update and reform the criminal laws, according to the reality and social changes that are currently living. The strictness of the law, the increase of penalties, the imputability of adolescents, among other aspects, could be some of the solutions that can be worked on to improve the justice system. |
