The reflections that emerged in the study should serve to promote the improvement of the Brazilian system in an attempt to meet the growing demand, without neglecting respect for donors and recipients.Esforços precisam ser empreendidos com o fim de aumentar o escasso número de doações de órgãos humanos para transplantes. O presente trabalho tem como objetivos apresentar questionamentos sobre a temática e convidar o leitor a refletir a respeito de casos noticiados. Para tanto, utilizou-se de pesquisa bibliográfica qualitativa descritiva.
