This is the rationality of an instrumental policy on life, a utilitarian biopolitics. The discourse of human rights and bioethics can reverse this logic by defending the thesis that life is the category that ethically challenges science and politics, demanding that it be a politics of life.Os direitos humanos são cada vez mais confrontados com as implicações políticas de certos discursos científicos sobre a vida humana. A vida humana tem sido objetivada pela racionalidade moderna como um mero recurso biológico, reduzido a um elemento útil e produtivo. Essa objetivação transforma cada vez mais a política em uma estratégia biopolítica de governo. Por sua vez, o discurso dos direitos humanos deve ser resignificado como prática de resistência às políticas de controle instrumental da vida e propor um novo significado da política como política de vida.
