Summary: One of the axis about which the 2021 labour reform turns is the introduction o a change of paradigm in the system of Spanish hiring and a new form of understand the labour relations in the companies, that have the objective of improving the quality of employment. To this end, they contribute a series of modifications that, from the start, are not directly related with part time hiring, but that, de facto, have an impact of some aspects of their legal system and about their expansion. Among this we can highlight: the elimination of periodical fixed work as a type of fixed part time work, the limitations to fixed hiring discontinuous part time work or the new implanted about part time training hiring. However, despite the reforms realized in RDL 32/2021, we can´t stop observing that it is necessary for the legislator to intervine in the legal system of part time work, as much as from this contractual point of view and Social Security, to guarantee an adequate changeover of the Directive (UE) 2019/1152 and the fulfiment of the requirements derived from the UE and national jurisprudence.
