From his hard work came the so-called Nansen Passport which was the first document that ensured international protection for refugees who crossed European borders in search of asylum. Today, such a passport seems more alive than ever in the face of the great migration crisis affecting Europe since 2015. Along these lines, this article aims to present the Nansen Passport, on one hand, as a solution for Europe and, on the other hand, as the most effective means of rapairing the deficiencies presented by the European Union's migration policy.La Gran Guerra de principios del siglo XX trajo consigo la primera gran crisis migratoria de Europa. Ciudades destrozadas, campos arrasados y miles de personas forzadas a huir de sus propios hogares escapando de la guerra, la persecución y el hambre. El noruego Fridtjof Nansen, de la mano de la Sociedad de Naciones, trabajó incansablemente para encontrar una solución a este problema. De su arduo trabajo surgió el llamado Pasaporte Nansen que fue el primer documento que aseguraba protección internacional a los refugiados que cruzaban las fronteras europeas en busca de asilo. En la actualidad, tal pasaporte parece más vivo que nunca ante la gran crisis migratoria que afecta Europa desde 2015.
