Tratamiento con células madre en neonatos
description
Neonates are increasingly receiving more adequate care to ensure both their survival and their quality of life. Neonates can be treated with stem cells to treat serious lung diseases such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). It is precisely the fragile newborns who have a higher percentage of risk of developing it. Cell therapy strategies have been used for purposes as diverse as tissue regeneration, poten-tiation of the specific immune response for antitumor therapy, drug delivery in damaged tissues, and restoration of homeostasis in sites with chronic inflammatory processes. For this reason, the objective of this research is to make a compilation of the therapies in which stem cells are currently used in neonates, as well as those diseases in which this therapy is still under investigation with very promising results for its future application. . Likewise, evidence accumulated during the last decade will be collected, allowing the full potential that stem cells have in the treatment of newborns and other general applications to be assessed. The research was carried out under a bibliograph-ic documentary type methodology, under the review modality. Stem cell therapy in neonates is currently facing a lack of solid evidence to support its use, in terms of the efficacy and safety necessary for its therapeutic use. However, the advances in ongoing research are promising, in terms of proposing a treatment modality aimed at anatomically and functionally recovering tissues, organs and systems, which currently lead to chronic diseases. Therefore, more research is required in this regard. For these same reasons, it is recommended to adopt a conservative approach when offering this type of information to the parents of neonates

Therefore, more research is required in this regard. For these same reasons, it is recommended to adopt a conservative approach when offering this type of information to the parents of neonatesLos neonatos están recibiendo cada vez cuidados más adecuados para asegurar tanto su supervivencia como su calidad de vida.
