Other jurisdictions that face the same situation have started adopting different measures that touch upon lawyers' monopoly and the rules that govern the legal services market. This article studies and compiles rulings from the Colombian Constitutional Court that have dealt with these two topics to infer the terms under which the debate of how to promote access to justice through the market will take place in the future.A falta de acesso à justiça, principalmente para as populações mais vulneráveis e com menos recursos econômicos, é um problema urgente na Colômbia. Os sistemas de defensoria pública e serviços pro bono não parecem ser suficientes e efetivos. Em outras jurisdições que também são afetadas por este problema, começaram a adotar diversas medidas que afetam o monopólio que ostentam os advogados e as regras que estruturaram o mercado através do qual oferecem seus serviços. Com o objetivo de prever os termos que vão sustentar o debate na Colômbia sobre como melhorar o acesso à justiça através de modificações ao monopólio dos advogados e a forma de regularização de seu mercado, este artigo reúne e estuda as sentenças do Supremo Tribunal Federal relacionadas com o tema.La falta de acceso a la justicia, sobre todo para las poblaciones más vulnerables y con menos recursos económicos, es un problema urgente en Colombia. Los sistemas de defensoría pública y servicios pro bono no parecen ser suficientes y efectivos. En otras jurisdicciones que también se ven afectadas por este problema se están empezando a adoptar distintas medidas que afectan el monopolio que ostentan los abogados y las reglas que estructuran el mercado a través del cual proveen sus servicios.
