In our view, both these outbursts of popular discontent and the proposed solution are due to root causes that a review of the Chilean constitutional history of the last four decades can help explain.En octubre de 2019 miles de personas llenaron las calles de las principales ciudades de Chile en una ola de protestas sin precedentes, siendo el primer detonante el aumento del precio del metro en Santiago y la consecuencia última el anuncio de la celebración de un plebiscito para determinar si se quería una nueva Constitución.
