Causas y consecuencias de estenosis de vías biliares
description
One of the most important and complex diseases of the bile ducts is biliary stricture. It is a fixed narrowing of a focal seg-ment of the bile duct that causes a dilation of the proximal bile duct and clinical parameters of obstructive jaundice. There is a wide spectrum of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, both benign and malignant, which can cause the development of biliary strictures. Most of these injuries “are associated with postoperative iatrogenic injuries, commonly followed by cho-lecystectomy (approximately 80%) or after anastomosis after liver resection or liver transplantation. The incidence of biliary lesions due to laparoscopic cholecystectomy ranges between 0.2 and 1.7%. The causes of biliary stenosis are multiple, in this sense, its differentiation is vital since, according to this cause, its treatment and prognosis vary. The general objective of the present investigation is to capture the main causes of biliary stenosis, as well as its consequences. The research model is a bibliographic documentary type review. Among its main causes are congenital, infectious, autoimmune, inflammatory, neoplastic, ischemic and iatrogenic. In relation to its complications, they are as varied as their causes. However, liver scar-ring (cirrhosis), portal hypertension, splenomegaly, gallstones and stones in the bile ducts, varicose veins, liver cancer, osteoporosis, vitamin deficiency, hepatic encephalopathy can be mentioned as a consequence of bile duct stenosis. and an increased risk of suffering from a number of other diseases. It is essential for the health professional to know and stay up-dated with the new scientific findings related to this etiology and to improve the prognosis of patients with biliary stenosis.
