Summary: In recent years, several research and epidemiological studies have specifically linked periodontitis with the development and progression of other diseases, including diabetes mellitus. Even though the diagnosis and clinics are imprecise about the relationship between these infections, typical of dental and periodontal tissues, with other organs or systems of the human body, these infections are caused by lipopolysaccharide lipopolysaccharides. These infections are caused by lipopolysaccharides, pro-inflammatory cytokines and viable gram-negative bacteria in the biofilm, since they influence periodontal diseases through the bloodstream. It is the purpose of this study to identify in patients with diabetes the factors that influence associated with periodontal diseases, through the quantitative-qualitative study in diabetic patients attended at the Medicaldent health center period 2019. The findings indicate some factors such as the consumption of carbohydrates, cigarettes and even sugar, the lack of exhaustive control of diet and insulin, as well as evidence of lack of information and education on the required oral hygiene and mood, as well as lack of knowledge of the propensity of diabetic patients to periodontal diseases. Preventive care and development is a public health issue that should be addressed with national campaigns to reverse associated morbidity rates
