That being said, this article proposes a juridical analysis to determine legal devises that allow the categorization of vulnerable consumers in the food sector, using as a methodological resource a comparative analysis law, specifically regarding the concepts of vulnerable consumers and average member of a vulnerable group of consumers in the European Union regulations.Cualquier consumidor puede ser o convertirse en vulnerable debido a factores biológicos, o por experimentar cambios determinados por factores exógenos que lo ubiquen en desventaja en sus interacciones con el mercado. Una de esas condiciones especiales es la ingesta alimentaria, por ello la necesidad de una protección especial.
