Summary: The Paris Agreement establishes an ascending architecture where commitments are nationally determined. This article aims to discuss possibilities in the Agreement for developing countries to cover the leading role of developed countries in its implementation. The research is based on the deductive method, a structuralist and materialist-historical approach to the analysis of legal texts. The naming and shaming tactic, through the global stocktake, undermines the possibility for developing countries to secure the leadership of developed countries by subjecting them to an intricate set of political relations established outside the Agreement and thereby weakening them.
