To achieve this result, the dialogue between two of the main contributions developed by scholars in this field was highlighted and analyzed in a detained way. The orthodox and critical schools, through their main exponents, dedicate their intellectual efforts to produce a reflection on the production of comparative legal knowledge. The crucial contributions brought by these intelligences are, in turn, the second and last objective of this study.O presente artigo tem dois objetivos que são interconectados e concomitantes. O primeiro deles é explicitar a importância fundamental da Teoria da Comparação Jurídica, como campo autônomo e essencial dos estudos que compõe o Direito Comparado, paradoxalmente pouco explorada na literatura jurídica nacional. Para isso, foram destacada e analisada de forma detida o diálogo entre duas das principais contribuições desenvolvidas pelos estudiosos deste campo. As escolas ortodoxa e crítica, através de seus principais expoentes, dedicam seus esforços intelectuais em produzir uma reflexão sobre a produção do conhecimento jurídico comparado.
