Summary: This article discusses the legal issues derived from freedom of expression when it collides with religious freedom. The basic content of religious freedom and the protection of religious feelings by criminal and civil law. Conclusions are provided to reconcile freedom of expression and religious freedom and set out guidelines for action in terms of weighting legal rights and freedoms in potential conflict. Freedom of expression is not the freedom to insult and discriminate or commit hate crimes against religious feelings.
