Summary: In this paper we focus on procedural victims’ rights in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. A current issue we have to attend in a prospective way given the global political and social context. The twenty - first century may be the century of the victims. Specifically, gender - based violence victims’ century given the gradual, progressive and historic attainment of the Human Rights’ appointment. Equidistance and reciprocity between victims ’ rights and offenders’ rights, and the importance of this topic to the national sovereignty, presents a scene which supposes not only a legal challenge but also a historical moment in the process of European integratio
