This work highlights the factors that may influence a student’s option regarding his strategic approach to learning, how a teacher can support his students in their academic project, and how the teacher’s work as a mediator should focus on teaching and study methods. On the other hand, we also highlight the University’s determinant role as a socialization agent, and how it can help prepare its students for their academic project through the creation of operational mechanisms, and, in particular, through the inclusion and development of study programs. This article aims to reflect on study programs and whether they should be perceived as a mere exercise of instruction or teaching, if their content should focus on study strategies (teach students how to learn) or cognitive training (teach students how to think), and how to create and choose an adequate program.O presente artigo tem como principais preocupações refletir sobre o modo como estuda o aluno do Ensino Superior e qual o papel se exige que desempenhe.
