An attempt to resolve indecisiveness by resorting to constitutional principles opens up a range of problems. How do we explain the relationship between legal principles and rules? The answers to this question provided by irrationalism, rationalism and those who take the path of reasonableness are presented and compared.En el presente trabajo pretendo dar cuenta sumariamente de ambigüedades, aporías y dificultades de difícil resolución a las que se enfrenta el operador jurídico hoy �es decir, en el contexto que proporciona el Estado constitucional� y de los ejes centrales de las distintas alternativas de solución teóricoprácticas que se han ofrecido. El intento de resolver las indeterminaciones a través del recurso a los principios constitucionales abre un abanico de problemas. ¿Cómo explicar la interrelación entre los principios jurídicos y las reglas?
