On the other hand, the political science, disciplines in charge of approaching its reflection, it has shared study object with the philosophy, the history of the ideas, the sociology, or the right. The present work notices as main objective, to promote the debate and the discussion about the utility of the political science as academic discipline and professional that’s responds or tries to respond queries like: what’s the meaning of politics? Or When we speak of political science, of what do we speak?La reflexión sobre la política es un asunto de difícil descripción. Quizás, lo anterior, se deba al concepto mismo, cuando no al carácter polisémico y variable de un término que se ha tratado desde disciplinas distintas. También porque la política, como objeto de reflexión, se nos presenta, a pesar de su uso cotidiano, como un término controvertido y de diferente uso y comprensión, según el ámbito y el momento en que se emplee. Por su parte, la ciencia política, disciplina encargada de abordar su reflexión, ha compartido objeto de estudio con la filosofía, la historia de las ideas, la sociología o el derecho. El presente trabajo se fija como objetivo principal, promover el debate y la discusión acerca de la utilidad de la ciencia política como disciplina académica y profesional que responde o intenta responder interrogantes como: ¿qué se entiende por política?
