Especially, this paper focuses on the analysis of three current cases, which are originated by the inadequate policy undertaken by these institutions, namely: the Ebola crisis, the Greek debt sustainability and the luxury hotels building policy fostered by the World Bank. Beneath this institutional review underlies a critical thought on the main economic ideas inspired by the neoliberal waves that put the economic science orthodoxy before the general interest of ensuring the social rights –even human– and the economic development.El siguiente artículo realiza una crítica a las labores desempeñadas por el Fondo Monetario Internacional y el Banco Mundial desde mediados de los años 70 hasta la actualidad. De manera especial, se pone el foco de atención en el análisis de tres casos actuales, fruto de la mala política de estas instituciones, a saber: la crisis del ébola en África, la sostenibilidad de la deuda griega y la política de construcciones de hoteles de lujo promovida por el Banco Mundial.
