Summary: In Colombia, the Collective Investment Schemes have become an increasingly popular mechanism to obtain resources for different economical activities. One type of these Investment Schemes is the Collective Investment Fund. During the year 2013 the Government issued the decrees 1242 and 1243 of 2013, which set new regulations on this Fund. Among the principal novelties, these decrees introduce four different special activities: administration, management, distribution and custody. The scope of this work is to describe and analyze the legal framework of these specialized activities in the legal context of Colombia, in order to determine whether they provide an improvement on the topic or otherwise.
