Summary: This article aims to reflect on the right to peace in Colombia from the critical perspective of human rights, through documentary analysis of The Oslo Declaration on the right to peace, the Constitution of Colombia, and the Sentence C-370/06 of the Constitutional Court. To this purpose four dimensions of human rights are presented: ethical, political, social and legal, in order to analyze the situation of the human right to peace, understood as a mandatory right and a State duty. The paper argues that talking about the right to peace implies noting that the axis of the State is the human dignity, and not the market and its demands; also argues that, if we want peace and establish it as a human right, it is necessary to rethink the State’s relationship with the market, recognizing human dignity as an integrating axis of human rights and the Estate.
