The aim of studying the dynamics of the social, political and cultural life of a practically
anonymous character such as José de Souza Marques was to better understand
citizenship education, the fight against intolerance, peace culture, democratic
republicanism and a work ethic as a personal virtue of the entrepreneur. Contact was
strengthened with multiple and diverse communities by means of an academic discourse
which values a daily routine losing supporters by the day and contributes to thoughts on
other pertinent issues, such as the role of local leaders, educators and social activists in
the processes of constructing collective identities, memories and representations of a
Brazilian nationality. It also considers the role of institutions such as schools, non-Catholic
churches, micro and small companies and Freemasonry as mirrors of multiple local
communities and the loci of information, teaching and construction of a citizenship outside
white Iberian and excluding standards. |
