These explanations are characterized by his deterministic caracter and pessimism towards the peace prospects of this nation that is living a historical moment. However, a closer look at the process of configuration of the Congolese post-colonial state and the international dynamics that have influenced their particular articulation may shed new light on the conflict itself, the causes of its extension and its prospects for resolution.Los orígenes y las causas de la persistencia del conflicto en la República Democrática del Congo han sido explicados empleando argumentos simplificados que han tendido a minimizar la complejidad de los acontecimientos presentados en este país centroafricano desde la década de los noventa hasta el día de hoy. Estas explicaciones se caracterizan por su marcado carácter determinista y por ensombrecer aún más las perspectivas de paz de esta nación que se encuentra viviendo un coyuntural momento histórico.
