It intends to underline the flaws of the previous regime and arrive to the conclusion as to whether the new statute addresses and solves those issues. The article also analyzes the most relevant aspects of the regime and the amount of penalties imposed by the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio for the violation of the antitrust regime in Colombia.Teniendo en cuenta la promulgación reciente de una ley en materia de competencia, referida a los aspectos procesales y sancionatorios por violación de sus disposiciones, el autor entrega al lector un estudio comparativo entre el régimen anterior y el consagrado en la nueva ley en materia de las sanciones que pueden imponer la autoridad de competencia colombiana. Se analizan las deficiencias y vacios del antiguo régimen para ver si la actual regulación mejora esos aspectos.
