Nowadays, the debate regarding the advancements on coverage,
professionalisation and budgeting designated to education has been
accomplished, and the topic of quality of education remains on the
center of the analysis, because it is considered the tip of the iceberg of
Mexican social and economic development. Because of the importance
of such theme, this article focuses particularly in showing the objectives
of the �Alianza por la Calidad de la Educación�, this agreement was
signed between the Public Education Secretary (SEP) and the National
Union of Educational Workers (Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de
la Educación �SNTE�, and engages with the topic of professionalisation
of teachers and educational authorities. With the launch of the �Alianza por la Calidad de la Educación�
presented by the Federal Government, considered as the reform
through which a deep transformation of the educational system could
be realized so public education can be a factor for justice an equality,
and also looks to revalue teachers who represent its fi rst engine.
In the measurement that teachers increase their competitiveness and
knowledge, more positive and direct infl uence they can have on the
learning process of their students.

Por la importancia de dicho tema, este artículo se enfoca particularmente a mostrar los objetivos de la Alianza por la Calidad de la Educación, acuerdo fi rmado entre la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) y el Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE), centrándose en el eje de la profesionalización de los maestros y las autoridades educativas.
