With this in mind, the article examines, first, the regulations defining the scientific powers of the State, the autonomous regions, local institutions and universities in terms of constitutional jurisprudence and the recent statutory reforms. It then systematises by formal type and material purpose the regulations passed while exercising their respective powers, as well as the organisational forms of the scientific government. This analysis suggests some degree of imitation and parallelism between the autonomous regional and state regulations, possibly due to its regulatory articulation and the lack of co-ordination and convergence of scientific policies. As a result, the study finally looks at the regulations required by this inter-governmental co-ordination and collaboration and the bodies and procedures by which it could better be articulated, as well as reviewing some recent political initiatives which aimed to overcome this lack of collaboration.Vint anys després de la Llei de la ciència, s'examina el marc normatiu i organitzatiu actual de la investigació científica a Espanya bo i proposant una reflexió sobre les seves particularitats. Amb aquest propòsit, l'article examina, primer, les normes que delimiten les competències científiques de l'Estat, de les comunitats autònomes, de les entitats locals i de les universitats, davant de la jurisprudència constitucional i de les últimes reformes estatutàries. I sistematiza, després, per la seva tipologia formal i el seu objecte material, les normes dictades en exercici de les seves competències respectives, com també les formes organitzatives de l'Administració científica. D'aquesta anàlisi s'infereix un cert mimetisme i paral·lelisme entre els ordenaments autonòmics i l'estatal, possiblement causat per la seva articulació normativa i l'escassa coordinació i convergència de les polítiques científiques.
