Summary: This is a cross-sectional study that applies a method for quantitative evaluation of postural risks in the metal machining industry, so that baseline measurements of postures at risk of being the site of future musculoskeletal disorders in workers can be obtained. The Full-length Quick Evaluation was performed in 18 workers (average age, 46.83 ± 14.28 years; seniority, 14.94 ± 9.63 years) in different jobs exposed to skeletal risk muscle. The resulting scores revealed high risk levels in most jobs; 8 workers (44.44%) between the ages of 49 and 58 had very high scores, and 2 workers between the ages of 59 and 68 years had moderately elevated scores. Classification of the scores by body part showed statistically significant differences (p <0.001) among the various body parts. A statistically significant correlation (p <0.05) was found between the score levels and various work environment variables: noise, vibration, prolonged standing, overexertion and mental load, suggesting that risk reduction measures directed at these variables could improve the work environment.
