However, few studies have examined the possible adverse consequences of terrorism on children. This paper aims to conduct a systematic review of the literature on psychological consequences for children exposed to terrorist acts. Fifty-four papers were reviewed, mainly from the United States of America (72.22%) and related to the attack of September 11th, 2001 in New York (50%). In most cases, PTSD symptoms were analyzed (64.81%) in children who experienced victimization indirectly, through their exposure to attack information in the media (33.33%). Trained professionals are needed to work with child victims of terrorism, who can recognize the symptoms associated with these experiences and the damaging effects that can lead to children KW - menor KW - terrorismo KW - efectos KW - Victimología KW - children KW - terrorism KW - effects KW - victimology ER -
