Summary: The creation of favorable conditions for a country´s inhabitants, and women especially, to have access to decent employment is no easy task as it involves the transversal assimilation of the gender perspective in its public policies, in the existing regulatory framework and even fostering a social change which can reach even the family home where we can fi nd discriminating practices towards women in everyday life which hinder their development and wellbeing. This situation is mainly found in the Latin American countries and México is no exception. This research work analyses the most infl uent aspects in the current women employment situation and some political and fi nancial suggestions are made to improve this situation.
