The Colombian State has not been oblivious to this dynamic and has recognized through judgments some rights, leaving equal to same-sex couples and heterosexual couples and prohibits discrimination due to sexual orientation. Through this research paper was intended to investigate the compliance and factual recognition of the rights granted to the sexual minority in the city of Barranquilla, taking into consideration the perception of this population sector, and thus compare the legal developments with the social and cultural situation in this area.
