Laburpena: The changes in the management of the labour force which are being applied in Renfe, during the last decades, have implied a drastic reduction of the staff (flexible work hours at the end of the shift),and a better labour disponibility of those who stay (functional disponibility). These changes are related to the privatizing tendency of the economy which questions the model of railway transportation nowadays; in addition to the fact that it is a private company (budgeted funding, politics). The main objective in the management of the labour force adopted in Renfe is the reduction of the labour force costs. Workers and Trade Unions have soften the negative effects of the leaving of thousand of workers (over 15.000 in the last 14 years) due to the redundancy files and surprisingly without social conflicts consolidating,at the same time, financial advantages in exchange for accepting new and more flexible working models such as travelling circulation service, single circulation agent.
