Laburpena: This paper presents a classification of possible links betweem legal theory and literature. Based on this classification, this article analyzes the connections between a scientific discourse of law and the Quixote, and describes the emphasis made by some legal researches about this masterpiece of Spanish language. The paper concludes showing the relevande of the study of literature for the science of law (especially for philosophy of law and the history of law), for the many advantages that it offers, especially when this study of literature is placed in communication with other sources of information. To achieve this target, a strict reading of The Quixote was necessary, first, and, in second place, a study of the juridical discourses that were written about literature.
