AB  - International human rights law has become developed
during recent years, especially in the field of protecting
vulnerable groups whose fundamental rights are being
violated, including women, children and migrant
workers. In many cases such vulnerable groups are the
victims of transnational organised crime and have crimes
committed against them involving sexual and/or
work-based exploitation. The international community
has adopted new international standards for combating
trafficking and the smuggling of migrants; it
must ensure compliance with such international treaties
to eliminate the violation of human rights committed
by transnational organised crime regarding
trafficking in people and the smuggling of migrants.
