Summary: |
This article show that the justice and peace law approved by the Colombian Congress, encourage the impunity
because improperly opens the door to the possibility that some perpetrators may individually receive generous
judicial benefits without requiring corresponding assurances from them; thus allows members of illegal armed
groups to benefit from amnesties or pardons. So, the called justice and peace law, aimed at exonerating the
paramilitaries from serving sentences that are proportionate to the damage that they have caused, at protecting
them from international justice. In this sense, the Law 975 of 2005 contributes to the strengthening of the
impunity in Colombia. |
