This work tries to determine the characteristics of the persons working in the physical activity sector with
old people in several centres in the Madrid region, as well as the concern of those centres regarding the
requirements when hiring the professionals. In order to do so, surveys have been distributed in 60 centres.
The results show that in 80% of the centres the Degree in Physical Activity is not mandatory, while 60%
of the people working there do not have that title. The concern of the companies regarding their
employees formation is not very high (only 30% of the total have an active policy on this matter), but
those employees are quite well motivated in their job. As a conclusion, it would be good that, in the
future, the Degree in Physical Activity was mandatory when working with the third age. |
