Both Colombian and Spanish environmental law establish mechanisms to assure, at least at an acceptable level, citizen's participation in environmental and natural resources defense. Nevertheless as it is an incipient process it is necessary to decidedly reinforce its structural elements. More and better environmental education in all steps and levels; greater and better access to information on behalf of the population and greater responsibility and citizens' task taken in environmental defense. This will be the only way to acquire consciousness for a real active participation. |
