AB  - The legal antecedents of the Colombian regime concerning marital society were influenced by French law, although somehow our normativity stepped away from those para-meters during the beginning of the 20th century. Never-theless, French law has maintained its influence along all these years in the other European laws as well as in the civil law of the Latin American countries. This is why this article goes through the way this legal communal regime is and has been regulated, which acts as supplementary given the fact that that there is a lack of marriage capi-tulations among spouses married within the French system.
