One of the most important demands of this new century it is the necessity of effective governments, catalysts, which should be focused in preventing the possible wrongs more than to try to cure them. To facilitate these new services, the government should establish an entire, clear and very well defined strategy from the highest levels, with its purposes, its structures and funds for its development. The idea of what its called e-government is born this way, creating an innovation starting from the technologies of information and communication, building what some denominate the infosociety or society of the information, which is more expedite, less bureaucratic, more sensitive and more transparent. Therefore, the intention is to define the e-government trough the perspective of the compared law, to expose the principles and fundamental characteristic of this new way of public administration, and to present some initiatives of e-government in this country. An exploratory-descriptive methodology, on the base of bibliographical documents and periodical publications is used. It is concluded that the success of the e-government will depend on the transparency and trust that settles down between the administration and the citizen.
