Summary: In Colombia, Renewable Natural Resources owns to the Nation. Their management corresponds to the Environmental Authorities, at a regional level, through actions and procedures ranging from the grant of authorizations, concessions, licenses and/or permission, to the imposition of sanctions because of the nonfulfilment of the environmental normativity. This work gives tools for the understanding of the missionary exercise of the Regional Autonomous Corporations from the environmental licensing, water concession for its use and profit, and the permission of atmospheric emissions. It also describes the functions of environmental control and follow-up and the exercise of these Environmental Entities coercive faculties.
