Summary: The objective of this study is to apply the method proposed by The Laboratory of Economy and Sociology of Work in France (LEST), particularly the analysis of the psycho-sociological aspects of two job positions, taylorized and non-taylorized, in order to determine its utility in the design of a general managerial control typology. The LEST Method offers valuable information in at least five psychosocial dimensions for job evaluation: initiative, social status, communication, cooperation and identification of output perfomance by the worker. This information can be very useful to determine the degree of consent, negotiation, autonomy and compensation of the worker in his/her job, allowing an approximation to the design of a general typology of managerial control in a company. Additionally, it allows one to examine the manifestation of management in two different modalities of work organization, taylorized and non-taylorized or flexible. The determination of the psychosocial dimensions through the LEST method for job evaluation facilitates an understanding of the predominant type of control in a workplace, and identification of the different types of control that capital can exert there, including managerial, direct, independent, simple, technical and bureaucratic. With this application it is also possible to obtain valuable data on potential harms to workers.
