Laburpena: The Committee of the Regions, a European Community body with consultative character, has profited the last reform European treaties. In fact, the Treaty of Amsterdam has reinforced the role of the Committee of the Regions in the Community institutional framework: the Committee can adopt its own Rules of Procedure, it has spread out its consultative action and it has reached a bigger administrative independence from the Economic and Social Committee.
